The iconic Jeep® brand continues its journey toward a bold electrified future with the introduction of new electrified powertrain options for the all-new 2026 Jeep Compass . Building on the global success of its predecessor, the updated Compass now offers consumers more choice than ever with the addition of a hybrid (HEV) and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant—both designed to deliver legendary Jeep capability without compromising efficiency or performance.
A New Era of Efficiency Meets Adventure
As part of Stellantis’ aggressive Dare Forward 2030 sustainability plan, the 2026 Jeep Compass represents a significant step in integrating electrification into the brand’s core DNA while maintaining the rugged versatility that Jeep fans expect.
“With the 2026 Compass, we’re proving that electrification and 4×4 capability can coexist,” said Christian Meunier, Global Chief Marketing Officer at Jeep. “Our customers want more efficiency without sacrificing the freedom to go anywhere, and this new lineup delivers exactly that.”
Electrified Powertrains Designed for Real-World Driving
The 2026 Compass will be available with three powertrain options:
- 2.0L Turbocharged Gasoline Engine (FWD/AWD) – The refreshed standard turbocharged inline-four engine provides improved fuel economy and refined performance.
- Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) – Combines a 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine with dual electric motors and an e-CVT transmission. This setup delivers seamless power delivery and enhanced city driving efficiency while retaining full trail-rated capability.
- Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) – Offers up to 35 miles of all-electric range thanks to a larger battery pack and upgraded electric motor system. Ideal for commuters who also crave weekend adventures, the PHEV model maintains Jeep’s renowned off-road prowess.
All models continue to offer both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations, with the Trail Rated® PHEV version set to impress serious off-roaders with its low-speed crawling ability and instant torque delivery from the electric motor.
Styling That Turns Heads Off-Road and On
Visually, the 2026 Compass adopts a more modern yet unmistakably Jeep design language. Sharper LED lighting signatures, a sculpted hood, and a more upright seven-slot grille give it a confident presence. Inside, the Compass debuts an all-digital cockpit with available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12-inch Uconnect™ touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are also expanded for 2026, including Level 2+ hands-free driving capability on highways and terrain-specific autonomous driving modes for off-road trails.
